Culture Shock?

I know it’s only been 2 years that we’ve lived outside of the US (in Canada, mind you) but there are a few things that we need to get used to again:

– color-less paper money (how about incorporating some color for entertainment and aesthetic qualities? This might even help users distinguish between bills!)

– not paying for plastic bags (a new law in Ontario mandates that stores charge at least 5 cents per plastic bag to encourage customers to bring their own)

– everything is bigger in the US (even ants as my friends used to say – but I’m talking about soft drink sizes …. John and I purchased the biggest cup I’ve ever seen at one of the rest stops on our drive)

– the Fahrenheit scale (does anyone outside of the US even use this?)

– the heat and humidity! I realize now that we’ve become too accustomed to the colder temperatures in Canada (where did I pack those shorts again?)
