Happy Easter or should I rather say “boa pascoa”? Luca enjoyed his first Easter Egg hunt and by “hunt” I mean sitting and playing with plastic Easter eggs after John brought them to Luca. Next year I am sure…the real “hunting” will begin.
Please notice the sunshine and feel the warm weather of this picture since it has been raining pretty much non-stop since Saturday….and it’s been cold. That’s right – cold, here in Brazil. I actually wore a sweater yesterday….
To top it all off, Luca had a high fever over the weekend that had us frantically call our new pediatrician (who we haven’t even met yet) who suggested we take Luca to the ER. So, we went to our first ER visit with Luca (note that this is not our first ER visit in Brazil as we had to bring my dad to the hospital in Natal when we were in Brazil on vacation a few years ago….nothing too serious at the time but an interesting experience if you don’t speak Portuguese and are trying to explain what a “gout attack” is). Fortunately, Luca doesn’t have an ear infection (which I initially suspected) or pneumonia or bronchitis and the antibiotics are starting to work well (after, of course, a few sleepless nights).
In other Luca news, we found a solution to the bathtub problem…. initially we thought a babypool might do the trick but came to find out that the smallest pools are way too large to fit into the shower or the bathroom for that matter. And then it clicked….we remembered a huge rubbermaid storage container that I had packed into our air shipment (which already arrived!!!) and …tada… a new bathtub was born. Hey, sometimes you’ve got to improvise but remember: a happy Luca = a happy mommy!
