Well, not quite yet – but the Christmas-y baking season officially commenced today making it feel more like Christmas in our home (although without the cold and snow; we are thoroughly enjoying the sun for one final Brazilian Christmas). On the menu today were Vanillekipferln (vanilla crescents, one of my all-time favorite Christmas cookie) and Linzertorte, a not so Christmas-y Austrian dessert – first time I am making it…I know, it didn’t come out as beautiful as the one in my baking book but hey, it still tastes good!
Next up? Banana bread, Christmas cookies with the kids, Nussecken (nut bars) for the consulate holiday party and more Vanillekipferln…. yum!
