Best birthday ever

“This is the best birthday!”

Or at least so we were told – twice, in fact. Kind of makes your heart melt and forget all those times when your son was driving you up a wall. So, how do you get your 5-year old to say those precious words? Simple….just follow these 7 simple steps:

Step 1. Let him wake up to opening birthday cards.

Happy birthday!

Step 2. Drive about an hour to the “Maerchenwald” – the Family Park by Neusiedler See (Lake Neusiedl) and hop on ride after ride, after ride…

Yup, everyone is having the time of their lives!

Then – keep your fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain (thankfully only on the way home for us) and encourage your son to take his first “real” roller coaster ride.

Go on the roller coaster at least 3 more times.

Step 3. Head home for cake (chocolate tart, of course!) and presents!

If chocolate is involved, everyone smiles!

Step 4. Wait a few days (and build up more excitement) – have a party at the Vienna Zoo.

Step 5. Organize a guided kids’ tour of your son’s favorite animals: Giraffes, giant pandas, anacondas (of course), sea lions, and penguins.

Step 6. Don’t be discouraged by the rain.

Step 7. Let them eat cake….and sausage … and fries…. and chocolate!

And that’s all there’s to it! Now, can someone please turn off the cold and rainy Vienna weather?
