Sometimes you have to spend all those saved-up hotel points and shake things up!
Here’s to the first Mom/daughter trip to NYC to soak up all the city had to offer: theater (Wicked! … surprise tickets to see SIX again), so much shopping (not sure how we managed to zip up the suitcases), walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with a dear friend to our old stomping grounds in the Village (and realizing that apparently a few things have changed in two decades!), and doing my favorite city activity – walking for hours and share that passion with Juliana who now also correctly views the Big Apple as the center of the universe (“Mom, we can’t stop now; it’s our last night and we have to see and walk all of NYC” – spoken by the 11-year old well past 10pm, after a show and after about 12 miles of walking when I naively suggested that maybe we should go back to the hotel to sleep).
Kids these days! To say Juliana fit into the city vibe is an understatement.
Someone was most certainly living her best life ever and is already making plans to go back (“Mom, there are all these shows we still need to see and we have not done everything [barely half] of what was on our list!”) or trying to find a reason to move there. #Momsuccess
